Sehwag and Ganguly's record-breaking partnership
As per ESPNcricinfo, Ganguly was involved in the highest opening partnership in Champions Trophy history.
He and Virender Sehwag added 192 runs for the first wicket in just 28.4 overs in a 2000 match against England in Colombo.
Sehwag scored a brisk 126 and Ganguly remained unbeaten on 117 as India (271/2) accomplished the 270-run target is just 39.3 overs.

Successive hundreds in Champions Trophy
Ganguly is among the only five cricketers to have scored consecutive centuries in the history of Champions Trophy.
The elite list also features legendary batsmen like Shikhar Dhawan, Saeed Anwar, Upul Tharanga, and Chris Gayle.
In the 2000 edition, Ganguly scored 141 against South Africa followed it up with a 117* against New Zealand.

Ganguly also holds the record for hitting the most number of sixes in Champions Trophy history.
In the 13 matches he played in this tournament, he smashed a total of 17 sixes.
This puts him ahead of other hard-hitting batsmen like Chris Gayle (15), Eoin Morgan (14), Shane Watson (12) and Paul Collingwood (11) on this particular list, highlighting his power-hitting abilities.

Ganguly breached the 50-run mark six times across 11 innings in the Champions Trophy.
He hence owns the joint-most 50-plus scores in the competition.
The southpaw shares the top spot with compatriots Dhawan and Rahul Dravid.
Ganguly's tally of three CT tons is also the joint-most for any batter.
Herschelle Gibbs, Gayle, and Dhawan also boast as many CT hundreds.

Most runs in 2000 edition
The ICC Champions Trophy 2000 edition was a knock-out format.
India won their pre-quarter, quarter and semi-final matches, defeating Kenya, Australia and South Africa respectively.
In the final, they were beaten by New Zealand. Ganguly ended as the tourney's top scorer.
He amassed 348 runs from 4 matches at 116 with the help of two tons and a fifty.
No other batter could even manage 210 runs.
