Evergreen Cahill is Australia's leading goal-scorer
Cahill has 107 caps under his belt and has bagged 50 goals for Australia.
Notably, he netted in the Socceroos' first ever World Cup goal in 2006 against Japan.
He ended his career two appearances shy of matching the all-time record for Australia, which is held by goal-keeper Mark Schwarzer.
He will also miss out on Australia's Asian Cup title defense this term.
Age is just a number
Will Cahill continue his club career?
The 38-year-old might have called it a day on his international career but he is still pondering about his club future.
His contract with London based second-tier club Millwall expired, earlier this year, but the evergreen striker is expected to ply his trade somewhere else.
He might even return home to play for Melbourne City.
