West Indies to tour Sri Lanka for white-ball series: Details
Sri Lanka Cricket has officially announced that the West Indies cricket team will be touring the island nation in October. The tour will comprise a six-match series, including three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20I matches. The series is set to commence with a T20I match in Dambulla on October 13, followed by two more T20Is on October 15 and 17 respectively.
ODIs to kick off in Pallekele on October 20
The ODIs are scheduled to begin in Pallekele on October 20, with subsequent matches planned for October 23 and 26. This will mark a shift from the T20 format to the ODI format within the same series. The cricket board has confirmed that both Dambulla and Pallekele will host matches throughout this period, providing a diverse range of venues for the upcoming games.
West Indies's previous tour to Sri Lanka
The last time West Indies toured Sri Lanka for an ODI series was in 2020. The Caribbean side emerged victorious in all three matches of that series. In addition to the ODIs, they also played two T20Is during the same tour and won both games. This upcoming tour will provide an opportunity for both teams to test their skills and strategies against each other once again.
