Shikhar Dhawan set to miss final ODI, one-off T20I
Shikhar Dhawan will miss the final ODI and the one-off T20I between India and Sri Lanka to be at the side of his ailing mother. "Shikhar Dhawan would be leaving for India tomorrow i.e. September 3rd to see his ailing mother. Mr Dhawan's mother is stable and is recovering well at the moment," Amitabh Choudhary was quoted as saying in a BCCI statement.
No replacement named for Dhawan
The BCCI decided not to name Dhawan's replacement as only two matches are left in the tour. Either KL Rahul or Ajinkya Rahane, who is yet to feature in the ODI series, could take Dhawan's place in the lineup.
Possible line-up for the fifth ODI
India have already sealed the series 4-0 and this might be the perfect time for experimentation. Dhawan has been in terrific form but as mentioned he will be unavailable. Keeping that in mind, this could be India's XI: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur
