'Best feeling of my career': Simarjeet on playing under Dhoni
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Simarjeet Singh has expressed his admiration for MS Dhoni, describing the experience of playing under his leadership as "the best feeling" he has had in his career. The 26-year-old cricketer made this statement during an interview with Sportskeeda. Singh made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut with CSK in 2022, and despite a challenging start due to injuries, he has emerged as a promising talent in the 2024 season.
Singh credits Dhoni for his development as T20 bowler
Singh has credited Dhoni for playing a significant role in his growth as a T20 bowler. His standout performance in IPL 2024, where he dismissed marquee names further underscored his potential. "MS Dhoni has helped me develop as a better T20 bowler. I don't think anyone knows more about T20 cricket than him," said the right-arm pacer.
Singh's IPL journey
Singh's IPL journey began in 2022 when he was introduced to the league by CSK under Dhoni's leadership. Despite not having a breakout season, he demonstrated his potential by taking four wickets in six matches at an impressive economy rate of 7.67. Untimely injuries forced him to miss IPL 2023, but he made a strong comeback the next season with four more appearances for CSK.
Singh's impressive performance in DPL T20
Singh is currently showcasing his skills in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20. Representing East Delhi Riders, he has emerged as a formidable bowling threat with 15 wickets to his name. Notably, the top-five fastest deliveries in the league have all been bowled by him, often nearing the 150-kmph mark. He has also demonstrated versatility by varying his lengths effectively for East Delhi Riders.
