Shooting World Cup: India clinch three medals on Day 1
The Indian shooting contingent started off on a positive manner on the first day of the mega World Cup event. Three medals were won, including a record gold, in the International Shooting Sport Federation's World Cup being held in Mexico. Debutants in the World Cup, Shahzar Rizvi and Mehuli Ghosh won gold and bronze medals respectively. Senior member Jitu Rai won the other bronze.

Rizvi won the historic gold in men's 10m air pistol. Rai, meanwhile, bagged the bronze in the same event. Ghosh won a well-deserved bronze in the women's 10m air pistol event. She won the medal with a junior world record score of 228.4.
Rizvi's world record moment
Rizvi, who participated in his first senior World Cup event, stole the show with a record-breaking achievement. He shot a world record score of 242.3 after being involved in a 24-shot final against Olympic champion Christian Reitz. He broke Japanese sensation Tomoyuki Matsuda's record of 241.8 which was created last year. The youngster shot only seven shots below 10.
