Shikhar Dhawan gives befitting reply to trolls: Here's what happened
The Indian Cricket team is used to facing backlash from their fans every time they lose a match. So when it lost a test series in England, it wasn't surprising to see the fans and followers coming down hardly on the team. But what was more shocking was to see the fans trying to control the player's social media presence too. Here's what happened.
The Instagram post that led to trolling
It so happened that Shikhar Dhawan recently posted a picture with all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant, on his official Instagram account. The men were clearly seen having fun with each other. The caption read: "Crazy boys and non-stop fun @hardikpandya93...With a priceless @rishabpant expression."
Here's Dhawan's "fun" post
And, how did the fans react?
The fans, obviously, were not happy with them having fun, and started blaming the cricketer for his poor show in the five-match Test series, where India lost 1-3. Notably, his performance has been a cause of concern. But, was trolling necessary?
Dhawan's befitting reply to the trolls
However, Dhawan had a befitting reply to the trolls. He said that though everyone in the team is disappointed, these light moments are necessary in life. "We are also hurt the way you guys are. But as a team, it is important to be in a good mindset before the next game," Dhawan wrote.
Meanwhile, when is the next match?
While Dhawan's reply has won hearts, it remains to be seen how will India do the damage control as they get down to play the final test at the Oval starting today.
