Kohli's vision while batting is at par with Tendulkar: Shastri
After India won the Tent Bridge Test against England and made the series 2-1, head coach Ravi Shastri was all praises for his captain, Virat Kohli. Shastri even said that Kohli is the best at visualizing situations while batting. He even compared to Tendulkar. Kohli has been in tremendous form and scored 97 and 103 as India clinched a 203-run victory.
Shastri was under heavy fire recently
After India's poor performance at Lord's, former players like Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag brought down their wrath upon the coach. Harbhajan demanded that Shastri must answer why did the disaster happen. He also criticized Shastri's earlier comments, where he said that India could become the best traveling side. Singh insisted that the coach should admit weather and pitch conditions do make a difference.
India could script history if they win the series
There are still 2 matches left in the ongoing Test series and India have made matters tough for the hosts. With the Kohli-led Indian team in full-swing, even a series victory can't be ruled out. However, only Bradman's Australia have ever been able to win a 5-match series after going 0-2 down. It won't be easy but Kohli's team has shown character.
The coach has also praised his bowlers
Indian bowlers put up a fantastic display at Trent Bridge and their coach could not be prouder. Shastri said, "This is the best group of fast bowlers India have ever had by a mile including the bench strength as well." He also pointed out that the fielding of this Indian side is the best ever, even in ODIs.
Records broken by Indian players in the third Test
Kohli's aggregate of 400+ runs, across all three Tests, combined is a record performance by an Indian batsman. Pandya's 5/28 and 52* places him among greats like Kapil Dev, Vinoo Mankad, and Lala Amarnath- all of whom scored a half-century while also taking a 5-wicket haul against England. The target of 521 was the second highest set by India in SENA countries.
