England vs India ODIs: Shardul replaces injured Bumrah
The BCCI has selected Shardul Thakur to replace an injured Jasprit Bumrah for the three-match ODI series against England, starting July 12. Bumrah, who was ruled out of the ongoing T20I series after fracturing his thumb, will not play any part in the ODIs as well. Thakur last played for India in the T20I Nidahas Trophy in March, 2018. Here is more.
Burmah underwent surgery on fractured thumb
Bumrah has undergone a surgery on his fractured left thumb and has travelled back to India. The BCCI said in a statement that the pacer underwent a surgery in Leeds, before flying back to India. The right-arm bowler had injured his thumb during the first match of the T20I series versus Ireland last month. Earlier, Deepak Chahar was selected as his replacement for T20Is.
