Shami penned a heartfelt message for Saha on X, saying, "Today we bid farewell to a true legend of Indian cricket, Wriddhiman Saha. His brilliant glove work and countless memorable moments, both on and off the field, have left an indelible mark."
He added that from the Ranji Trophy to the national team, Saha's dedication and passion have inspired us all.
Meanwhile, behind the stumps, the wicketkeeper managed a total of 122 dismissals in Tests and ODIs.

Saha's impressive career and retirement
Saha has had an illustrious cricketing career, having scored 7,169 runs at an average of 48.65 in 142 First-Class games.
He also played for India in 40 Tests, scoring a total of 1,353 Test runs at an average of 29.41, including three tons.
He featured in nine ODIs, scoring 41 runs (AVG: 13.66).
Meanwhile, behind the stumps, Saha managed a total of 122 dismissals in Tests and ODIs.
Notably, he is one of the five Indian wicketkeepers with 100+ dismissals.
Retirement announcement
Saha's retirement and final Ranji Trophy season
Saha had announced his retirement this Ranji Trophy season, saying, "After a cherished journey in cricket, this season will be my last."
He had said he was honored to represent Bengal one last time before hanging his boots.
However, he was dismissed for a seven-ball duck by Gurnoor Brar in what was likely to be his last match against Punjab.
Meanwhile, Bengal won the match by an innings and 13 runs.
