Do you know?
The four challenges we know so far
Apart from the Warrior's Trial and The Trial of the Eagle, there are two other challenge tombs which we know about but their gameplay has not yet been revealed. They are 'Trial of the Jaguar' and 'Trial of the Spider'.
Tomb challenges
Something deadly this way comes
Compared to the 2013 Lara Croft and Rise of the Tomb Raider, the tombs are far different.
The earlier games had tombs that Lara had to explore but they were mostly puzzle rooms spread across the map.
The game had intricate and immersive challenges.
However, the latest addition promises to be deadly as well, with its brutal traps and puzzles.
The Warrior's Trial
Bring out the warrior within
The Warrior's Trial challenge is located near the city of Paititi which was shown in the original gameplay in July.
The challenge shows Lara's underwater swimming with realistic breath-holding systems. However, the most notable part of the challenge is Lara's clothes.
She seems to be dressed in native clothes of the Paititi people. This makes it easier to move and blend in.
Trial of the Eagle
Where eagles and Lara dare
The Trial of the Eagle is a tomb on the way to Paititi that players have to cross.
This challenges the archaeologist in Lara. In the absence of visible threats, players can take their time to solve this puzzle.
Notably, the mechanisms in the tombs are realistic and topical to native civilizations.
This marks a huge improvement in challenge tombs compared to previous games.
