23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams could land another major honor as she reached the women's singles final at the Wimbledon 2018. Serena will face Germany's Angelique Kerber in the final. There were no men's singles matches on Thursday with the semis matches being slated for today. Here is how Serena and Kerber fared on Day 10.
Both players enjoy powerful victories
Serena, who was awarded with a seeding (25) trounced Germany's Julia Gorges 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets. Former world number one Kerber enjoyed herself with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win against Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko. The duo had met each other in the Wimbledon 2016 finale, which was won by Serena. Kerber will look to test the American powerhouse, who has been in astounding form.

Serena went on to state that she didn't think that she will reach the final in the 4th comeback tournament itself. Notably, Serena made a return to tennis this year after giving birth in September 2017. She added that she doesn't have anything to lose and is playing freely. Kerber said she is proud to be in another Slam final.

Serena will be eyeing a 24th Slam title as well as an eight Wimbledon honor. Her last Slam title win came in 2017, when she won the Australian Open despite being pregnant for weeks. The match will be held on Saturday at 6:30 PM IST.
