Scholes warns Pogba to come out of fantasy world
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has taken a shot at star mid-fielder Paul Pogba. Scholes has accused him of staying in a fantasy world, rather than in reality. Despite, rumors claiming that Pogba could be on his way out to Real Madrid, Scholes wants him to stay with United. Here's what Scholes said about Pogba.
Scholes wants Pogba to start producing substance
Scholes said that while United have lost star players in the past, there are always players, who can shine at the club. Pogba came to United in 2016-17 and was tipped to do great things, but inconsistency has been an issue. Scholes believes that Pogba has the potential but it is time he stars producing meaningful performance every week.
Pogba needs some rollicking in order to avoid fantasy world
Scholes said that Pogba needs some rollicking now and then to help him on the pitch. "He could be a player who needs a Bryan Robson or a Roy Keane next to him just to give him a little rollicking every now and then. If he doesn't get that he just carries on in his own little fantasy world, thinking he's the best."
'Pogba should stick to his strengths'
Scholes also analyzed further and told Premier League Productions that Pogba needs to be clever at what he is doing and stick to strengths rather than trying something different. "His strengths are running, passing the ball, getting into the box, scoring goals, assisting goals. Once he starts stud rolling, it's not his game, he becomes easy to play against," Scholes was quoted as saying.
Pogba needs to prove that he is the best
Scholes further stated that while Pogba believes that he is a big or great player, he has to prove it every single time he steps on the field. "He's a good lad, as a young player he wanted to learn, he was desperate to learn. I just don't think he's getting the maturity, the sense is not coming to him," Scholes vocalized.
Difficult for United to lose Pogba
"It's about being part of a team at Manchester United. That's why it's so difficult to say do you lose him. Is there anybody with the ability at Manchester United to replace him? At this point, I don't think there is," Scholes concluded.
Pogba has been poor in recent times
Pogba, who has his contract with United until 2021, has been poor on the field in recent times against top teams. There are talks of him wanting to leave the club and join Real, although manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Pogba will stay next season. Irrespective of what happens, United will want to start afresh next term after the disappointments this season.
