ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2020 fixtures have been announced
The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday, revealed the schedule for the ICC men's T20 World Cup 2020 that will be held in Australia. India will start the tournament with their match against South Africa at Perth. While the men's tournament will be held between October and November, the women's tournament will take place between February and March. Here's the men's tournament schedule.
India are in Group 2 of the Super 12
India have been placed in Group 2 of the Super 12 teams who have directly qualified for the competition. Afghanistan, England, and South Africa are the other three teams who are in the same group. After the group stages between the other teams, the highest ranked from Group B (B1) and second-highest ranked team from Group A (A2) will join the four sides in Group 2.
Which are some of India's important matches?
After their match against South Africa on October 24, India will face A2 on October 29. On November 1, a mouth-watering fixture awaits us in the form of India vs England. Further, India face B1 on November 5 and Afghanistan on November 9. The top two teams from Groups 1 and 2 will then proceed to the semi-finals.
Other important matches
Australia face Pakistan on October 24, New Zealand face West Indies on October 25. Australia and West Indies clash on October 28. October 30 will see England take on South Africa and on the following day, October 31, Pakistan will battle it out with New Zealand. Pakistan meet West Indies on November 3 while Australia, and New Zealand clash on November 6.
Venues and dates for the semi-finals and final
Sydney Cricket Ground will host the first semi-final on November 11, while the Adelaide Oval will be the venue for the second semi-final on November 12. The final, scheduled for November 15, will be held at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
