Dale Steyn has become the most successful Test bowler for South Africa. The veteran fast bowler surpassed legend Shaun Pollock for the most Test wickets. Zaman's wickets sees Steyn make history
Steyn went into the Boxing Day Test versus Pakistan with 421 wickets to his name. He was tied with the legendary Pollock. The fast bowler accounted for the wicket of Fakhar Zaman (12) to create history. He achieved the feat in his 89th Test match. Steyn angled a good length ball across Zaman, who edged the same to Dean Elgar.
Steyn 11th highest Test wicket-taker in the world
Steyn's historic moment saw the home crowd at SuperSport Park getting to their feet and applauding the star. Pollock needed 108 Tests to get to 421 scalps. Steyn is now 11th in the all-time list of highest wicket-takers in Tests. He needs 10 more to surpass former New Zealand cricketer Richard Hadlee (431). One assumes that Steyn will go on to break more records.

According to a report in the ICC, Steyn had said that he has a bigger goal to achieve. "I have a lot more wickets in me than just one more. I haven't saved myself just to take one more wicket than Polly (Pollock). There is a bigger goal at the end of the day."
