Samson led RR as a full-time skipper for the first time in 2021. He slammed a historic century in his very first as RR's skipper that season. The Indian batter racked up 484 runs from 14 matches at a remarkable average of 40.33 that season. Besides a ton, he scored two fifties. Samson maintained a strike-rate of 136.72 throughout the season.
IPL 2022: 458 runs
Like 2021, Samson led the Royals from the front the following the season (2022). While his blade did the talking, RR reached their second-ever final in the cash-rich league. However, they lost to Gujarat Titans. Notably, Samson smashed 458 runs from 17 games at 28.63 in the season. He struck at 146.79, while his tally included two fifties.
IPL 2018: 441 runs
Samson returned to the Royals after spending two seasons with Delhi Capitals (2016 and 2017). Notably, RR served a two-year spot-fixing ban in that phase. Samson straightaway made his mark with 441 runs from 15 matches at an average of 31.50. He slammed three half-centuries that season. The RR batter had a strike-rate of 137.81 in IPL 2018.
