India vs Bangladesh: Sanju Samson begins training for T20Is
Indian cricketer Sanju Samson has kicked off his training for the upcoming India versus Bangladesh T20I series, which is just around the corner. The wicketkeeper-batter recently made the switch from First-Class cricket, where he featured in the Duleep Trophy. To help with this transition, he has opted for the Rajasthan Royals's High Performance Centre in Nagpur as his training hub.
Recent performance and upcoming challenges
Samson's recent T20I outings for India haven't exactly been fireworks, managing just 70 runs in three games against Zimbabwe. His form took a hit against Sri Lanka too, where he bagged two ducks in a row. The Indian batter found his groove back in red-ball cricket, smashing his maiden First-Class century in nearly five years. Still, he didn't make the cut for the Irani Cup.
Samson's strategy for the upcoming T20I season
As the T20I season kicks off, it is time for Samson to refocus his efforts on the format. Despite facing some hurdles in recent international matches, he is still determined to prove himself. In the upcoming series against Bangladesh, Jitesh Sharma has been chosen as the second wicket-keeper. This means Samson will need to outshine Sharma to hold onto his spot in the squad once Rishabh Pant is back.
