Don't let distractions disrupt your career: Tendulkar to young cricketers
What's the story
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has given priceless advice to India's young cricketers, during his acceptance speech for the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the Naman Awards.
The ceremony was held in Mumbai on February 1.
In his address, Tendulkar stressed on the importance of staying focused and not letting distractions derail their careers, especially during this transition phase for Indian cricket.
Humility reminder
Tendulkar highlights importance of humility in success
"I would say, without cricket, all of us wouldn't be sitting in this room. For me, it has been the ultimate gift of my life. We have bat and ball, and if there is no solid grip over that, or you start losing grip over the bat and ball, you kind of slowly start losing grip over your career also," Tendulkar said at the BCCI Naman Awards event.
Advice

Tendulkar further advised, "Don't let distractions disrupt your career. Value everything that we have and look after your game."
He stressed the importance of appreciating their current position and acting appropriately to advance the game as well as India's reputation.
His comments come at a time when Indian cricket is marred by internal issues, as seen during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25.

"Just go out, give your best, and make the most of this opportunity," he advised during his speech at the Naman Awards event.
