Pegula attains these unique feats
By overcoming Muchova, Pegula (30y, 193d) is the oldest American in the Open Era to reach a maiden women's singles final at a Grand Slam event. Pegula is just the fourth player in the Open Era to reach the women's singles final at the Canadian, Cincinnati and US Open in a season after Rosemary Casals (1970), Evonne Goolagong Cawley (1973) and Serena Williams (2013).
Third player with this record
Pegula is only the third player in the Open Era to win a women's singles semi-final at the US Open after losing the first set 6-1, after Svetlana Kuznetsova (2004) and Azarenka (2020) - excluding retirements.
