Amorim not expecting same patience from United as Arsenal's Arteta
What's the story
Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has said that he doesn't expect the same patience from his employers as Mikel Arteta enjoyed during his time at Arsenal.
The statement comes ahead of United's Premier League clash against Arsenal.
The Red Devils are currently placed 14th in the table after a rough start under Amorim's guidance, having only managed 18 points out of a possible 48.
Inspirational journey
Amorim acknowledges Arteta's journey as an inspiration
Amorim also acknowledged Arteta's difficult start at Arsenal, where he didn't qualify for the UEFA Champions League for three seasons in a row before turning the Gunners into title contenders.
However, despite the inspiring example, Amorim feels his case is different.
"I will not have the time that Arteta had. I feel that. It's a different club," he said in a press conference.
Season hinges
Europa League success crucial for United's season
The fate of United's season now depends on their performance in the UEFA Europa League, especially the second leg of their round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad next Thursday.
Amorim stressed on being competitive on Sunday, despite having a small squad and not being able to rest players due to their situation.
He said, "When you are in this kind of club, you cannot think like that with a small squad at this moment."
Injury worries
Amorim shares concerns over player fitness
Amorim also expressed his concerns regarding the fitness of defender Harry Maguire and midfielder Manuel Ugarte ahead of Arsenal's visit.
Both players missed the draw against Sociedad due to injury.
"In this moment I don't know [about Maguire and Ugarte]," he said, hinting that their participation in the upcoming match is uncertain.
Squad update
Young striker set to feature against Arsenal
Amorim also confirmed teenage striker Chido Obi Martin, who missed out on Spain due to registration issues, will feature against Arsenal.
The 17-year-old had left Arsenal last summer over concerns about a clear pathway into the first-team.
"Everybody can start. If they are training [on Friday], if they played [against Sociedad], they can be ready. Chido is on the list," Amorim said, confident about the young star's readiness for the match.
