There were rumors about Kolkata Knight Riders approaching him as a potential replacement for Gautam Gambhir, who is now coaching Team India. However, Dravid's decision has been seen as an act of loyalty toward his former team, enhancing the cricketing intellect within RR's management.
Successful stint as Team India's head coach
Under Dravid's leadership, Team India achieved remarkable success. They reached 2021-23 ICC World Test Championship final and the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final before clinching the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup title.
