Wayne Rooney moves to MLS club DC United
Former England and Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has flown off to the United States and is all set to join MLS club DC United. Rooney had re-joined Everton from United in 2017 but he left the club after just one season. He is expected to complete a two-and-a-half-year deal later in the day. Rooney's move to DC United from Everton is a free transfer, although there is a compensation package which has been agreed by the two clubs. Reportedly, Rooney's deal is believed to be worth £10 million. He is set to become DC United's highest paid player ever. Officially, Rooney cannot sign for his new club until July 10, when the US mid-season transfer window opens.

Rooney is one of the greatest-of-all-time in Premier League. He is Manchester United's highest scorer with 253 goals across all competitions. He notched 208 Premier League goals for both United and Everton and is the 2nd highest scorer behind Alan Shearer (260).
