Five Ronda Rousey facts WWE wants to keep hidden
Since WWE's women's revolution began, the highest point of the movement surely was the recruitment of former UFC superstar and bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. And, Rousey is currently WWE's highest paid female wrestler to date. However, the current Raw Women's Champion has some skeletons in her closet which WWE wants you to forget, as we take a look at them.
Rousey was once troubled by her ex-boyfriend
Rousey, in her autobiography My Fight, Your Fight, spoke about one of her ex-boyfriends who was taking nude pictures of her without her consent. Rousey slapped him so hard that she hurt herself and went on to end the relationship. WWE, now being a PG-rated show, will hardly want fans to know about such a thing about one of their top stars.
How open Rousey has been about her sex life!
WWE has become quite conservative after Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression days and now, anything remotely sexual hardly features in WWE shows. However, Rousey has always been open about her sex life and this is something WWE will want fans to forget. She once said that she likes having a lot of sex before every match to help raise her testosterone levels.
WWE need her star power, not the other way round
Recently, it was suggested that Ronda Rousey would leave WWE after the conclusion of WrestleMania 35. On being asked about the issue, McMahon simply said that even someone as big as Rousey can "come and go". Nonetheless, WWE will never admit that she has a huge star power outside the company and it is them who are benefiting from this association.
An unplanned and poorly scripted debut
Fans were both shocked and excited when Rousey made a surprise appearance at Royal Rumble 2018. However, it was evident that her segment was not a planned one. Following her entrance, Rousey posed in the ring, pointing at the WrestleMania sign. However, her pose was longer than usual, as fans, commentators and announcers had to wait long enough to resume their duties.
Rousey's arrival has not been great for other women
Rousey's arrival to the WWE has certainly been a boon for her, fans and for WWE. However, her arrival has stopped some of the other women in the roster from reaching their potential. Notable women like Nia Jax, Asuka and Ember Moon have not had a good run in the main roster. Moreover, the rumored end of the brand split would worsen it.
