Reports have emerged that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wants to become the highest paid footballer in the world. Despite winning the Ballon d'Or two times in the last two years, Ronaldo is only the third highest paid footballer in the world. He is behind Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar Jr.
Ronaldo wants €1 mn more than Lionel Messi
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldo wants a new contract with Real Madrid where he is paid €1 million more than Lionel Messi. The Portuguese has also demanded that his contract reflects the individual awards he has won along with the bonuses for goals.
Messi is paid €46 million while CR7 gets €21 million
As per reports, Lionel Messi currently takes home €46 million from his Barcelona wages. Messi's former team-mate Neymar, who joined PSG in a record €222 million transfer, earns about €36 million in wages form the French outfit. Ronaldo's latest contract extension, in November 2016, hands him a package of €21 million. And now, Ronaldo has made it clear he wants more than 100% hike.
