Cristiano Ronaldo thanks Manchester United fans for their support
Last night was an emotional one for Manchester United fans, as their favorite star Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford with Juventus. Ronaldo had earlier played here with Real Madrid in the 2013 UCL campaign's quarterfinals. From 2003 to 2009, Ronaldo played for United, winning numerous trophies with the club. The Portuguese megastar thanked United fans for their support.
Ronaldo provided the assist for the match's only goal
Though CR7 didn't manage to get his name on the score-sheet as he did in 2013, he played brilliantly throughout the match. Two powerful shots by the Champions League's highest-ever scorer were saved by David de Gea. Ronaldo took on the winger's role as he did at United, providing a brilliant cross which led to Paulo Dybala scoring the only goal of the match.
CR7's numerous milestones with Manchester United
Ronaldo had then-become English football's most expensive teenager (£12.24 mn) when he joined United from Sporting. He scored United's 1,000th Premier League goal and since George Best, back in 1968, Ronaldo became United's second-ever Ballon d'Or winner. He also became the first-ever EPL player to win the FIFA World Player of The Year in 2008. Ronaldo also won the first-ever Puskas Award at United.
