Highly rated Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku completed his much-awaited move to Inter Milan from Manchester United on Thursday for €80 million. Lukaku, who played at United for a couple of seasons, endured a tough time in the second season. However, he still managed to have a decent stint at Old Trafford as he looks to bring the aura back to Inter Milan. Here's more.
Lukaku signs five-year deal with Inter
Speaking further on the deal, it has been reported that Lukaku has penned a five-year deal with the club, which would keep him at San Siro until 2024. Manager Antonio Conte had immediately identified him as his target after joining the club this season. However, the negotiations went on for too long as both the clubs were unable to reach an agreement.

"Inter were the only club I wanted, because Inter is Not For Everyone. I'm here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top," Lukaku was quoted as saying, via a press release from Inter.
Lukaku was close to joining Juventus
Prior to Inter, Lukaku was heavily linked to a move to Italian champions Juventus, with the latter willing to go ahead with a swap deal with United for Paulo Dybala. However, the talks between the club failed following Dybala's reluctance to move to Old Trafford. Later, Lukaku was seen training with Anderlecht in Belgium, as United fined him for it.
Conte wanted Lukaku at Chelsea in 2017
Lukaku was a must-have for Conte, who had also targeted him at Chelsea in 2017. However, he chose to join United from Everton for £90 million. He was United's first-choice striker under then-manager Jose Mourinho. But eventually, following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he lost his place to Marcus Rashford.
United thank Lukaku for his efforts
