Roman Reigns joins The Rock's Fast and Furious spin-off cast
While Roman Reigns is recovering from leukemia that forced him to relinquish his Universal Championship and spend time off WWE, the superstar has decided to join the cast of The Rock's movie, which is a spin-off from the 'Fast and Furious' series. The news was announced by Dwayne Johnson on Instagram as he posted a picture with Reigns on the sets. Here're further details.
What did The Rock have to say about Reigns?
In his post, The Rock was delighted to announce that Reigns was joining the cast to play his brother's role in the movie. He appreciated the strong willed Reigns, who is taking life positively as he fights the dreaded disease. The Rock said he "can't wait to see the 'Big Dog' return back to the ring". Reigns has been out since October, last year.
The Rock and Reigns belong to a legendary wrestling family
The Rock and Roman Reigns hail from the legendary Anoa'i family, which has produced iconic wrestling figures over the years. Their cousins include Umaga, Rikishi, Yokozuna, and The Usos among others. Rock's father Rocky Johnson and his grandfather Peter Maivia were also accomplished wrestlers who worked for the WWE and he was the first-ever third generation superstar of the company.

A little on the spin-off movie 'Hobbs and Shaw'
The movie, entitled 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw' will be a spin-off from the original series, now centering on the characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. Johnson will reprise his role as Agent Luke Hobbs, and Statham will play the role of Deckard Shaw, the brother of Owen Shaw, who was defeated by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew.

Roman Reigns also posted a picture of himself on the sets of the movie on Instagram and as the post reveals, he is surely having a great time filming with his cousin and recuperating from his injury. They are shooting on the Samoan Islands, and Reigns said that being able to do so with his cousin was 'a healing grace'.
