Rohit Sharma becomes first Indian to 500 T20 sixes: Stats
Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma has added another feather to his already-illustrious hat as he became the first Indian to complete 500 T20 sixes. The dasher reached the feat with his third maximum against Chennai Super Kings in Match 29 of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Notably, Rohit scored an unbeaten century (105* off 63 balls). He smoked 11 fours and five sixes.
500 sixes in the format
Rohit took 432 games to complete 500 maximums in T20 cricket (now 502). As per ESPNcricinfo, only Chris Gayle (1,056), Kieron Pollard (860), Andre Russell (678), and Colin Munro (548) are ahead of Rohit in terms of T20 sixes.
