What next for Lewandowski as Bayern striker wants out
One of the most prolific strikers in the world, Robert Lewandowski is eyeing a move away from Bayern Munich. The Polish international has informed the Bavarian management of his intentions of exiting the club. Notably, his agent has revealed that the forward needs a new challenge in his life and the German champions have been notified. So what's next for Lewandowski?
Lewandowski a revelation at Bayern
Since his move from Dortmund to the German champions in 2014, the player has amassed 151 goals in four seasons having played 195 times. He has scored 40+ goals in the last three campaigns. This shows what a vital resource he is to the German club. He was the Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2016-17, besides winning 7 trophies at Bayern.
Bayern not willing to let him go
Bayern are adamant that Robert will be at the club next season as he has a contract up till 2021. Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated that both the club and the player share a good relationship and they are confident of him staying.
Chelsea the best bet for Robert?
With Alvaro Morata's future hanging in the air after just one season at the club, Chelsea may be tempted to go for Lewandowski. Morata could be subjected to a bid from former club Juventus and if the Spaniard decides to leave, then Robert could be a direct replacement. Chelsea could go on to make a statement of intent by signing a world class striker.
Are Real, PSG possibilities?
It will be interesting to see whether Real and PSG go in for the player. Real Madrid have a settled side and PSG too have been happy with the trio of Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. But there could be a twist. If Gareth Bale decides to depart Real then Bayern are one of his possible destinations, which opens a door for Robert.
