Indian batter Rishabh Pant has had a remarkable comeback in white-ball cricket following a severe car accident in December 2022. The 26-year-old is now set to play his first Test in nearly two years. 101 vs England, Ahmedabad, 2021
Pant smashed a match-winning century for India against England in the 2021 Ahmedabad Test match. England perished for 205 in the first innings, while India were reduced to 80/4 in response. Pant slammed an aggressive 101 off 118 balls (13 fours and 2 sixes) to power India past 250. India later won the match by an innings and 25 runs.
89* vs Australia, Brisbane, 2021
Earlier that year, Pant played one of the greatest knocks in India's Test history. His unbeaten 89(138) helped India chase down 328 against Australia in the 4th Test in Brisbane. Pant played a counter-attacking knock after they were down to 228/4 on Day 5. This sealed India's first-ever Test win at the Gabba in Brisbane. India also completed a historic series win Down Under.
50 vs England, The Oval, 2021
India produced a riveting win against England at The Oval in 2021. This was India's first Test win at the historic venue in over 50 years. England gained a first-innings lead of 99 runs after racking up 290 in response to their 191. India scored 466 in the second innings, with Pant hammering a 106-ball 50. England later perished (210) to concede the match.
