Rinku Singh races to 2,500 runs in T20 cricket: Stats
Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh has completed 2,500 runs in T20 cricket. The dashing left-handed batter unlocked this achievement in Match 47 of IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens. Rinku attained this feat with his eighth run in the match. The left-hander, who came in at number three, was dismissed for 11. KKR claimed a seven-wicket win after chasing down 154.
Rinku's attributes in T20 cricket
Rinku raced to 2,500 T20 runs in his 120th encounter. He made his debut in the format a decade ago during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The budding Uttar Pradesh batter is known for his ability to finish games with the bat. His calm demeanor in run-chases stands out. Rinku now has 2,503 T20 runs at a strike rate of 148.19.
Over 800 runs in IPL
Rinku first burst on to the IPL circuit in 2017 when Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings) picked him up. However, he didn't play a game for them. Rinku finally made his IPL debut in 2018 for KKR, a franchise that turned him into a match-winner. The left-hander has smashed 848 runs in 40 IPL games for KKR so far.
Five successive sixes in an over
In 2023, a ground-breaking run-chase made Rinku a household name. He became the only batter to hammer five sixes in the last over of an IPL run-chase. Rinku helped KKR beat Gujarat Titans after 28 runs were needed off the last five balls. He became the first Indian to slam five back-to-back sixes in one over in the IPL.

Rinku's consistent performances with the bat in IPL 2023 earned him his India debut. He is now expected to bolster India's middle order in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
