Four ducks for Maxwell
Maxwell recorded a golden duck in the all-important Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals.
The Aussie hence scripted the joint second-most ducks in an IPL season (4) with Herschelle Gibbs (Deccan Chargers, 2009), Mithun Manhas (PWI, 2011), Manish Pandey (PWI, 2012), Shikhar Dhawan (DC, 2020), Eoin Morgan (KKR, 2021), Nicholas Pooran (PBKS, 2021), and Dinesh Karthik (RCB, 2023). Jos Buttler leads this tally with five ducks (RR, 2023).
Bowling challenges
Maxwell's struggles against different types of bowlers
In IPL 2024, Maxwell struggled a lot against both pacers and spinners.
As per ESPNcricinfo, he could only score 37 runs off 27 balls bowled by pacers and was dismissed five times.
His performance against spinners was no better as he could only manage 15 runs from 16 balls and was dismissed four times.
While Maxwell averaged 7.40 against pacers, his average further went down against spinners (3.75).

Despite his batting woes, Maxwell proved his worth with the ball in IPL 2024.
He took six wickets across six innings at an average of 21.50 and an economy of 8.06.
His best came when he picked two wickets for 23 runs in a single game, showcasing his bowling prowess despite a dismal season overall.
