#GamingBytes: Red Dead Redemption 2 will soon have online mode
Red Dead Redemption 2 released on October 26 and has become Rockstar's second highest selling game after GTA V. It had an estimated $750 mn worth of sales in the opening weekend. The immense popularity of the open world western has been compounded by the news that players can soon play the game online, exploring the world with their friends. Read about it here.
A little about Red Dead Redemption 2
The game follows the story of Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang who are forced to flee after a botched bank robbery in Blackwater. With the law and bounty hunters on their tails, Arthur has to choose between himself and his gang.
All about the online mode
While Rockstar has not yet revealed the date for the full launch of the online mode, the beta version will be available from mid-November. It will use the gameplay of the main game as a foundation and keep adding constant updates and make adjustments to ensure an evolving experience for gamers. This resembles the highly successful GTA V Online model, which makes it promising.
Something to get excited about
While you wait for the online mode to release, UK site Trusted Reviews had reported that Red Dead Redemption 2 might introduce a Battle Royale mode as well. Sourced from a confidential informant, the report has since then been deleted. But seeing Battle Royale's popularity in the gaming community, Rockstar just might be looking to cash in on it with its latest release.
