Rohit Sharma slams his third double ton in ODIs
Rohit Sharma is the first cricketer with 3 ODI double hundreds to his name. Two of them were against Sri Lanka. Today, he scored 208 runs in 153 deliveries in 2nd ODI against SL hitting 12 sixes and 13 boundaries. His first was against Australia in November'13; in November'15 he set the highest individual score in ODI scoring 264 against SL.

Rohit Sharma becomes the 2nd Indian, after Zaheer, to hit 4-sixes in 4-balls in ODIs. After hitting the century, he went bombastic and hit 7 sixes in the 9 deliveries. He also ended up hitting most 6s by an Indian captain in an ODI inning.

Only five cricketers have achieved the milestone of double hundreds in ODI cricket, three of them are Indian. Till now, 7 double hundreds have been smashed in ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar was the first to do so in February 2010, Sehwag in 2011. Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill achieved the feat at the 2015 ICC World Cup.
First team in ODI history to score 100 300-plus scores
This is the 100th time India have gone past the 300 mark in ODI cricket, the most by any team. India were also the last team to score a 300 among the big teams. It took India nearly 22 years of playing ODI cricket to cross 300 for the first time

No other team has more than 3 hundred plus opening stands this year. At 18 years and 69 days, Washington Sundar is the youngest debutant for India in ODIs since Parthiv Patel in 2003, 7th youngest overall.
