Smith breaks Virat Kohli's record, becomes second-fastest to 24th ton
Smith came up with a splendid batting performance as he struck 144 in the first innings, which was also his 24th Test century. In the process, he also became the second-fastest to 24th Test century, after Don Bradman. He broke Indian skipper Virat Kohli's record, who had taken 123 innings to attain the same, while Smith completed it in his 118th inning.
Smith equals Michael Hussey's record
Following his smooth ride in the first innings, Smith continued with the same momentum in the second as he scored his 25th Test century. In the process, he also equaled the record of the most number of consecutive 50+ innings in The Ashes, held by Michael Hussey. Both the men have scored six consecutive such innings in The Ashes.

Smith became the second-fastest to his 25th Test ton in 119 innings, after Bradman. He once again broke Kohli's record, who had attained it in his 127th inning.
