Gowtham smashes ton, claims eight wickets in same T20 match

Krishnappa Gowtham had a day to savor in the ongoing Karnataka Premier League.
The all-rounder, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, smashed a century and then claimed eight wickets in the same match.
Gowtham achieved this special record while playing for Ballari Tuskers against Shivamogga Lions.
The 30-year-old registered a host of records.

Gowtham smashes KPL records in style
Gowtham scored an unbeaten 134 off 56 deliveries. His innings included seven fours and 13 sixes.
He slammed the highest score in KPL and also recorded the fastest 100.
He also has the record for most sixes in one KPL match.
With the ball, Gowtham bowled four overs and picked up eight wickets for just 15 runs.
This is the best figure in KPL.

Interestingly, his 8/15 is the best bowling effort in the history of T20 cricket. However, his efforts, though, will not be part of any official record. This is because the state leagues aren't given an official T20 status yet.

This performance will help Gowtham come under the radar of the selectors.
He is already the highest wicket-taker in KPL 2019 (15).
Meanwhile, the Tuskers are enjoying themselves this season.
They sit on top of the table with four wins and one loss from five matches.
This night belonged to Gowtham, whose efforts helped his side win by 70 runs.

The experienced cricketer was bought for Rs. 6.2 crore by RR in the IPL 2018 auction.
