    Real Madrid's President Florentino Perez has finally opened up regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's sudden departure to Juventus at the end of the last season.

    Perez said that Real Madrid had no intention of selling Ronaldo, but had to let him go because he personally requested for a transfer.

    Perez also spoke about plans to renovate Santiago Bernabeu.

    Madrid got the highest value for Ronaldo, insists Perez

    The Real Madrid president also stated that the club has been able to get the highest value possible for Ronaldo.

    Ronaldo had moved to Juventus in a deal worth €100 million, the highest fee ever paid for a footballer over 30 years of age.

    "Madrid's clauses are not what needs to be paid, they are dissuasive," clarified Perez.

    Cristiano Ronaldo's decision to quit Real Madrid came as a shock to the entire footballing world, considering the number of trophies he earned with Los Blancos.

    Ronaldo became Real's highest goal-scorer ever, with 451 goals in 438 appearances.

    He won 4 Ballon d'Ors and 4 Champions League titles during his time with Los Blancos, also winning the 2011-12 and 2016-17 league titles.

    Santiago Bernabeu to have special seating arrangements for the disabled

    In another development, Perez will meet Real Madrid board members, today, to discuss renovation plans the club has for Santiago Bernabeu.

    Perez will look forward to the board members approving a loan to move ahead with the renovation.

    He also said that the expected time of development is three-and-a-half years.

    Special 800 seats will be made for the physically challenged.
