    What's the story

Royal Challengers Bangalore are on the verge of a remarkable comeback after claiming a stunning victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number 51 in Bengaluru.

Batting first, the hosts posted a mammoth total of 218/6.

In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad almost chased down the target but fell short of just 14 runs.

Here is our report of this high-octane fixture.

    Run fest

ABD and Moeen Ali set the Chinnaswamy alight

Royal Challengers Bangalore went into bat first.

They found themselves on the back-foot early after losing skipper Virat Kohli and his opening partner Parthiv Patel within first 30 deliveries.

However, AB de Villiers (69) and Moeen Ali (65) stitched a 107 run partnership before Rashid Khan got the better of them.

Cameos from Grandhomme and Sarfaraz Khan took Kohli's men to 218/6.

    Comebacks are real

    Williamson's heroics go in vain

Sunrisers Hyderabad started the chase well, with Alex Hales and Dhawan giving them a good start.

RCB spinners dismissed the duo but Kane Williamson (81) and Manish Pandey (62*) stitched a 135 run partnership to take the game to the final over of the match.

Mohammed Siraj bowled a stunning final over as he dismissed Williamson and took the game away from SRH.

    Thrashing

    Thampi thumped at the Chinnaswamy

Sunrisers Hyderabad's Basil Thampi conceded 70 runs in his 4-over spell with no wicket to his name.

Thampi's 70 for zero is the worst bowling performance in the IPL.

Ishant Sharma held the previous record after being thumped for 66 against CSK in 2013.

ABD has now gone past the 400 run mark this season with 427 run to his name in 11 games.

    Big hitting

It's been raining sixes in the IPL 11

This season of the IPL has seen the most number of sixes hit in the history of the tournament.

Till now, 736 sixes have been scored in 101 innings with an average of 7.28 sixes an inning.

The 2012 edition is second on the list as it saw 734 sixes in 148 innings at an average of 4.95 sixes an innings.
