IPL 2018: RCB thrash KXIP by 10 wickets
Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore have kept their playoff hopes alive with a 10 wicket thrashing of Kings XI Punjab. Kohli put the hosts to bat first and his bowlers did a commendable job in restricting them to just 88. Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel chased down the paltry total in only 8.1 overs. Here's the match report.
RCB bowlers make a mockery of Punjab's batting attack
Kohli won the toss and put the Kings to bat first. RCB bowlers gave them a fantastic start with their pacers bowling 17 short and short-of-good-length balls in the power-play. Their persistence with this length fetched them 3 wickets. Poor running then proved to be too expensive for the Kings XI as RCB wrapped them up for 88.
RCB bowlers have redeemed themselves
Royal Challengers Bangalore are the only team to bowl out their opposition thrice in this IPL. After being pummelled at the death in the first half of the season, their bowlers have finally started to come good.
Mayank Agarwal failed to make the most of his form
Mayank has had a disappointing IPL till now. Before IPL, Mayank had scored 1,160 runs in the Ranji Trophy at an average of 105.45 followed by 723 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. A lot was expected from this young lad. However, in this term, Mayank has managed just 120 runs at an average of 12.00.
When RCB are on song, they are unstoppable
This is the third time in the history of the cash-rich league that Royal Challengers Bangalore have won the game by 10 wickets. No other team has won by 10 wickets more than one in the IPL so far.
