Coach's endorsement
Flower praises Patidar's leadership qualities
"Rajat has the patience to observe everything calmly. No matter how many ups and downs he sees, he does not lose focus on the game," Flower said.
He stated that Patidar has all the qualities needed to lead a team in a high-pressure tournament like the IPL.
"Rajat has all the qualifications to be a captain," he added.
Leadership legacy
Patidar's journey to RCB captaincy
Patidar is set to lead RCB in their quest for IPL glory, continuing the club's legacy of strong leadership.
His appointment follows legendary captains like Rahul Dravid, Kevin Pietersen, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori, Virat Kohli, and Faf du Plessis.
This is a huge moment for RCB as they hope to build on their rich legacy of leadership with Patidar at the helm.
Captaincy
Patidar replaces Faf du Plessis
Patidar has replaced Faf du Plessis, who was released by the Royal Challengers following IPL 2024.
He captained the side in the previous few seasons.
Therefore, the Royal Challengers had a task of naming a new captaincy candidate.
Kohli, who successfully led the franchise in the past, is believed to have denied the role. This led to Patidar's appointment.
