Abdul Razzaq dubs Jasprit Bumrah as 'baby bowler': But why?
Former Pakistan all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq, has claimed that he could have easily faced Indian pace head Jasprit Bumrah, besides dubbing him as a 'baby bowler'. He also explained it by bringing up the fact that he had faced even tougher bowlers during his time, while Bumrah is no competition to them. Here is more on what Razzaq said.
Razzaq believes he could have put pressure on Bumrah
Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Razzaq said that the type of bowlers which he had faced during his time were better than Bumrah, and he would have easily piled pressure on him. "I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him," he said.
Razzaq explains why Bumrah has been so effective of late
"Bumrah is doing very well and has improved a lot. He has an awkward action and hits the seam perfectly, which is why he is effective," added Razzaq.
Bumrah is number one ODI bowler in the world
In case one doesn't know, Bumrah is currently the number one ODI bowler. Having made his debut in 2016, he has picked up 103 wickets in just 58 matches at a glorifying average of 21.88, including five four-wicket hauls and a fifer. He is also India's number one in Tests, ranked fifth, where he averages 20.17 in 12 matches with 62 wickets.
Bumrah has been highly effective overseas
If we analyze his performance overseas, it has been highly impressive. In 65 matches across formats, he has claimed 153 wickets at a sound average of 18.88. His best performance has come in the ODIs, where he has taken 64 wickets in 33 matches at an average of 18.15. It is followed by Tests, where he has 62 scalps from 12 matches.
Pakistanis have a usual tendency to pull India's leg
As far as Razzaq's opinions are concerned, it sounds nothing more than an attempt to pull the leg of the Indians, which is nothing unusual. Over the years, there have been numerous such instances. Also, in case one remembers, it was during the 2019 ICC World Cup when claims were made that India were intentionally thinking of losing a match to disallow Pakistan's qualification.
