#HappyBirthdayDhoni: Top five moments of Dhoni's career
What's the story
MS Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the greatest white-ball cricketers India have ever produced.
He played a pivotal role in helping India become a cricketing powerhouse as it stands today.
He turned 38 today, and it is likely that he would be calling time on his illustrious career soon.
On his birthday, we take a look at few of his top moments.
183*
An unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka
At the start of his career, Dhoni made a name for himself, courtesy his hard-hitting skills.
It became more prominent following a knock of 183* against Sri Lanka in an ODI in Jaipur in 2005.
India were chasing 299, and his innings of 145 deliveries took the match away from Lanka.
Thanks to Dhoni, India won this match by six wickets.
2007 World T20
First ever ICC title win under Dhoni
Post India's early exit from World Cup in 2007, Dhoni was appointed the captain for the World T20. And what an impact he made.
India lost only a game in the 2007 ICC World T20, as they dominated top sides.
They took on arch-rivals Pakistan in the final and clinched a thrilling victory.
India's young brigade under Dhoni scripted an unforgettable history.
Red-ball
Leading India to number one in Tests
Post World T20 triumph, Dhoni took on the task of guiding his country to pole position in the longest format of the game.
While he became the skipper in 2008, Dhoni led from the front.
In 2009, during the series against Sri Lanka, India clinched a 2-0 win as they reached the number one spot in red-ball cricket for the first time.
2013 Champions Trophy
Winning the ICC Champions Trophy
Dhoni is the only captain in history to win all the three ICC tournament titles.
Post his success in 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup, it was his turn again in 2013 Champions Trophy.
Not only the side remained unbeaten, but his captaincy also allowed India to tame England at their own backyard in the final.
His joy was evident from his celebration.
2011 World Cup
Finishes off in style to win the 2011 World Cup
Speaking of winning all three ICC titles, this has to be the top moment of all.
Taking on Lanka in the final, India were off to a shaky start.
However, a splendid innings from Gautam Gambhir allowed India to get back into the game.
And then Dhoni took charge and hit the winning six to help India claim their second ICC World Cup title.
