Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore slams SAI Bengaluru
Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has expressed his unhappiness regarding the facilities at Bengaluru's Sports Authority of India (SAI) complex. According to reports, Rathore slammed the infrastructure of the training centre, that is home to the nation's hockey campers. He visited SAI for an inspection and he did not like what he saw, with facilities being below the required standard.
Worst quality I've ever seen, claims Rathore
Rathore inspected the newly-laid facilities that included the likes of refurbished swimming complex and synthetic athletics track. The track was laid just ahead of the 2016 Olympics and is already in poor shape with patches all over the place. He lashed out at the kind of work carried out, saying the complex has the worst quality he has ever seen.
Sports Minister demands accountability
The former Olympic medalist held the sub-contractors accountable for the sham and has sought answers. He stated that an inquiry has been ordered regarding the matter. He also lamented that despite tons of money invested, poor work has been served in return.
