Royal Challengers Bangalore have been knocked out of 2018 IPL after losing to Rajasthan Royals by 30 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Tripathi rises in the absence of Jos Buttler
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and Rahane opted to bat first. Umesh Yadav provided an early break-through but Rahane and Tripathi stitched a 99 run partnership to steady the innings. Heinrich Klaasen and Krishnappa Gowtham played cameos while Tripathi remained unbeaten on 80 to help the hosts post a respectable total of 164 in 20 overs.
RCB's power packed batting line up fails to come good
In response, RCB were dealt with an early blow as skipper Kohli was sent back to the pavilion in 3rd over. He was once again dismissed by a spinner. ABD and Parthiv Patel gave them some hope but the evening clearly belonged to Shreyas Gopal, who rattled RCB's middle order. RCB's tail-end tried their best but they were left with too much to do.

Australian speedster Ben Laughlin bagged his 150th and 151st wicket in T20 cricket with the dismissal of Sarfaraz Khan and Umesh Yadav.
RCB were outdone by the brilliance of Shreyas Gopal
Shreyas Gopal's 4/16 is the 5th best figures by an uncapped Indian player in the IPL. Gopal bagged the key wickets wickets of Parthiv Patel, AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali and Mandeep Singh to completely destroy the batting line-up.
Are RCB nothing without Virat Kohli and ABD?
While chasing, Royal Challengers Bangalore have never won an IPL game, whenever Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and former RCB player Chris Gayle have been dismissed before the 13th over.
