Rahul Tewatia is a man of moments. He picks his moments, which make the spectators’ jaw drop and they become unforgettable. How else can one explain his exploits that included five sixes in an over when Rajasthan Royals completed the highest ever chase in IPL history? Born on May 20, 1993, in Haryana, Tewatia rose through the ranks of state cricket with his right-arm leg-spin that deceived the batsmen in the air. The variations in flight that he produced made him a bowler to keep an eye on. He made his first-class debut for Haryana against Karnataka in 2013. Like in the case of many other players in the 21st century, it was the IPL that proved to be the saving grace in Tewatia’s career as well. He made his IPL debut in the 2014 season for the Rajasthan Royals. After short stints with Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils, Tewatia joined the Royals again in 2020. Although a bowler by trade, his performances with the willow down the order made him a cult hero.
