T20I Rankings: Rahul retains second spot, Kohli slips to 10
In the latest ICC T20I rankings for batsmen, Indian player KL Rahul retained his second spot, while skipper Virat Kohli slipped to number 10. Rahul had delivered the goods in the T20I series against New Zealand. Notably, England captain Eoin Morgan displaced Kohli in the rankings after his terrific display against South Africa. Further, Pakistan batsman Babar Azam is the number one T20I batsman.

Rahul proved the mettle against New Zealand
The Indian opener Rahul was in splendid touch against the Black Caps in the white-ball leg. In five T20Is, he scored 224 runs at an average of 56. The tally included two fifties as well. He was also the highest run-scorer of the series. His last 8 T20I scores read as- 91, 45, 54, 56, 57*, 27, 39 and 45.
Kohli wasn't at his best in the shortest format
The Indian skipper had an average T20I series by his standards. He could muster only 105 runs in 4 innings against New Zealand at 26.25. His highest score came in the first T20I wherein he scored 45 off 32 balls. This resulted in him losing his spot to Eoin Morgan. Kohli will look to improve his record ahead of the World Cup T20.
Morgan looked solid in the South Africa T20Is
Morgan's resounding run led England to a 2-1 series victory after they lost the first T20I. His 22-ball 57 in the third T20I helped England chase the mammoth 223-run target. The southpaw struck seven sixes and ended with a strike rate of 259.09. He was the leading run-scorer of the series, having amassed 136 runs in 3 T20Is.
