IPL auction: Quinton de Kock goes to Lucknow
The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction on Saturday saw the established Quinton de Kock be purchased by Lucknow Super Giants. De Kock, who did a decent job for the Mumbai Indians, was traded to the five-time champions for Rs. 2.8 crore following the IPL 2018 season when he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Earlier, he played for Delhi Capitals as well.

The South African limited-overs specialist has played 77 matches in the IPL. He has racked up 2,256 runs at an average of 31.33. QDK has smashed one century and 16 fifties with the best of 108. He has hit 230 fours and 83 sixes at a strike rate of 130.93. De Kock wasn't retained by MI post IPL 2021.
Lucknow got these players as their draft picks
Before the IPL 2022 auction, Lucknow Super Giants signed three players as their draft picks. The Lucknow based outfit's first choice was India's vice-captain, KL Rahul. They spent Rs. 17 crore to acquire his services, making him the joint-most paid player in the league. They roped in Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for Rs. 9.2 crore and are paying Rs. 4 crore for Ravi Bishnoi.
De Kock contributed for the Mumbai Indians
De Kock had two solid seasons for MI in IPL 2019 and 2020 respectively. He smashed 529 and 503 runs respectively, helping MI win two successive IPL crowns. He smashed eight fifties in this phase. However, last season saw him score 297 runs at 29.70.
Lucknow have also bought Holder
Besides Quinton, the Lucknow Super Giants have roped in West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder for a staggering amount of Rs. 8.75 crore. The senior cricketer was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier. Holder will aim to show his pedigree for LSG with both bat and ball.
