Premier League: Jose Mourinho once again gets angry with media
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was, once again, angry and unhappy with the media throwing questions at him regarding Marcus Rashford's playing time at the club. Marcus hasn't been a regular starter at United since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January. With Romelu Lukaku taking the striker's role, Marcus often comes on as a substitute. And questions on his game time irked Jose.
Jose defends Rashford's selection record
Jose was giving a pre-match conference ahead of his side's encounter, this weekend, against Watford. The primary reason behind bringing up Rashford's issue was his good form. Notably, he scored against Spain and Switzerland over the last few days during the break. And Jose defended himself bringing out statistics regarding how many games Marcus has played in the two-year tenure so far under him.
Jose says certain people like criticizing him
In his press conference, Jose stated that, "Speaking about Marcus, I think I can expect that on Sunday I'm going to be highly criticised for not playing him [on Saturday] because some of the boys are really obsessed with me and some of them, I think, have a problem with some compulsive lies." He added that certain people have a habit of criticizing him.
Jose gives details of Rashford's game time under him
Mourinho gave a detailed explanation about Rashford's playing time under him ranging from matches, minutes and competitions during the two-year period. "With me in two seasons, he had 105 appearances, 5,744 minutes, 63.7 matches of 90 minutes, including five finals," stated Jose. He then took names of certain youngsters of England from other EPL teams and highlighted Marcus is playing way more than them.
United take on high-flying Watford
Marcus was sent off against Burnley in United's previous Premier League encounter and is set to miss three games. The Old Trafford club face high-flying Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday at 10:00 PM IST. Jose has been under immense pressure since the start of the season with United having already lost twice in 4 matches.
