Commonwealth Games: PV Sindhu suffers an ankle injury
22-year-old India's ace shuttler PV Sindhu hopes to be fit before the 21st edition of Commonwealth Games. The Games will be held at the Gold Coast. The 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist sprained her ankle during a practice session at the Gopichand Academy earlier this week. Sindhu is one of India's biggest hopes to clinch a gold at 21st CWG.
Sindhu expected to win gold for India
Sindhu is being touted as the gold medal favourite at the XXI Commonwealth Games. In the 2014 edition, she had to settle for a bronze medal after a loss against Canada's Michelle Li. With the field not as strong as Super Series events, the expectations from Sindhu are high. Sindhu is determined to give her best and fulfill the nation's hopes.
Sindhu's achievements in mega events
Sindhu, who bagged a bronze in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, has also won three medals in World Championships. She won a bronze medal in the 2014 Asian Games and also in the Asian Championships. A silver in Rio Olympics was icing on the cake.
