#GamingBytes: PUBG for Xbox One issues permanent ban for cheating
PUBG or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds delivers an intense Battle Royale experience across platforms. With an increased number of users, there are always hackers and cheaters who spoil the gameplay experience for others. While PUBG has always taken strict action against such individuals, it recently announced a permanent ban for those caught hacking or cheating on Xbox One. Read all about it here.
Zero tolerance policy for cheaters
PUBG Corp's Xbox team informed on its weekly community post that cheating and hacking would lead to permanent bans. Interestingly, inappropriate behavior like harassing other players will result in temporary bans. The announcement said developers were investigating cases of cheating and taking strict action against those who are in violation of their 'Rules of Conduct'. It also encouraged gamers to report instances of cheating.
An answer to repeated player calls
The weekly community post had a light tone except for the permanent ban information. Notably, players had been asking on forums for a long time whether console players could be banned for cheating and were looking for information on the banning process. Now that PUBG has moved from early access to full release on Xbox, developers have answered fan questions regarding cheating.
Reaching out to the fans
Apart from the anti-cheating stance, the post also reached out to fans who were experiencing gameplay problems. The developers asked fans to report the issue, along with their gamer-tag and session ID, where players lost connection to the host and had their game dropped.
